Sheltered Instruction: Part I 

This three-day interactive training is designed to prepare participants to become effective sheltered instruction teachers.  This highly effective training includes: 

  • language acquisition background
  • hands-on, interactive activities for immediate classroom use
  • instruction in the components of sheltered instruction
  • practice planning sheltered lessons

Participants are required to purchase the SIOP® book: Making Content Comprehensible from Pearson.


Sheltered Instruction: Part II

This one-day follow-up training for academic areas targets creating language and content objectives and more strategies and techniques to use in the classroom.  Trainings are:

  • For ELAR teachers
  • For CTE teachers
  • For math teachers
  • For science teachers
  • For social studies teachers

Sheltered Instruction: Part III

This one-day training helps teachers perfect writing language objectives as well as tips and techniques for incorporating the four-language skills into lessons and activities.
